Wind power helps carbon reduction |

I have been participating a group to conserve the environment of the state of Illinois in the U.S.A. I received a report to recap the activity I found an interesting article that wind power cuts the carbon pollution.
The research,"Wind Power for a cleaner America:Reducing Global Warming Pollution, Cutting Air Pollution and Saving Wat er,"shows that Illinois's current power generation from wind energy reduces 3,544,000 metric tons of global warming pollution annually. The effects is similar of taking 695,000 cars off the road per year. Also the wind power saves enough water to serve 41,5000 people. Compare to coal and natural gas fired power plants which contribute global warming and water consumption, wind power does not have these problems. In America, wind energy now displaces about 68 million metric tons of global warming pollution each year which can be counted for 13 million cars. Wind power usages also doubles up since 2008. State of Illinois is very hopeful that the new energy projects on wind energy continues at a current pace, it can reduce global warming pollution by an additional 3.09million metric tons in 2016, equivalent of 607,000 cars. 695,000 cars off the road per year. Also the wind power saves enough water to serve 41,5000 people. Compare to coal and natural gas fired power plants which contribute global warming and water consumption, wind power does not have these problems. In America, wind energy now displaces about 68 million metric tons of global warming pollution each year. President Obama and Congress agreed to extend wind power tax credit despite the heavy opposition from fossil fuel industry. Renewable energy is expensive compare to existing fossil fuel energy. I hope for the greater good that government in every country will invest in it for the future. |

Yes , wind energy is a big potential alternative source of energy . Many Europeans countries are harnessing this power already a lot.
