Hello!! I was thinking about doing this forever!! This month I'll be giving a short de
scription of my favorite musicians who have played a big role on the world-wide eco-scene. The rankings are based on my favorites (music-wise :P). Here you go:
Shironamhin: (Bengali of "UNTITLED") Shironamhin is the first band/musician to ever go "Eco" in Bangladesh. For the first time in the history of Bangladeshi Music, The musicians were actually thinking about the earth!! The 5th album of them named "Shironamhin" (Self-titled) was made with 100% bio-degradable Jute fibers. The little piece of paper that was used is also recycled paper. They also ripped the CD in re-writable format, So that we don't have to put them out on a showcase (after they are ripped).
Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath: Although most people will severely disagree with me in this part. But, they have played eco-friendly parts on this world by releasing various world famous songs named ?The Almighty Dollar?, ?Dreamer" etc. and Black Sabbath?s ?Hole in the Sky", "Children of the Sea" etc. Both Linkin Park and Green Day said ?Ozzy? & ?Sabbath? are one of their inspirations for their Eco-work.
Green Day: Punk-Pioneer trio ?Green Day? (Still #2 on my ranking :P) are a huge name in environmental music. These California punks cemented their transition to cultural/political ambassadors in 2004 with the release of American Idiot. Around the same time, Green Day partnered with Natural Resources Defense Council, one of the most effective environmental action groups in the country. Together, Green Day and the NDRC are working to bring fans to action, demanding Congress take measures for cleaner energy and more green jobs. They have also been heavily involved in efforts to promote alternative energy as opposed to more traditional fossil fuel consumption and have made a number of YouTube videos voicing support for environmental protection and smarter energy policies.
Linkin Park: World famous Alternative Rock/Metal Band ?Linkin Park? is a leading name in the environmental scene. The group is a part of Music for Relief, an organization whose cited mission is to support disaster relief and reduce global warming. They have joined forces with Habitat for Humanity to make green housing accessible to those who would otherwise have no place to live. The band is also bringing awareness to deforestation by helping groups such as American Forests Global Re-leaf Program. The most appreciated work of them is a full album named ?A thousand Suns?.
U2: ?This time it?s to benefit you and me in the world we live in?-Bono(Guitarist). U2 is one of "The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time?. Their front man/Guitarist Bono has introduced an organic clothing line to the fashion world. The band gets involved in causes they feel are worthy. They also played at Live Earth 2008 & 2011.
Pearl Jam: This grunge outfit has a 22-year history of environmentalism. While the band has donated more than $100,000 to organizations that work on climate change and renewable energy in recent years, its members also try to neutralize carbon emissions when touring. Most recently, they?ve worked with the Gulf Restoration Network to help clean the coast after the BP oil spill two years ago. Individually, guitarist Stone Gossard is on the board of directors for Seattle?s Wild Salmon Center and has spoken at Conservation International meetings. Front-man Eddie Vedder recorded a song and donated to the ?Artists for Peace and Justice?s Haiti? relief fund.
Willie Nelson: (Musically a leading country singer and environmentally a ?rock-star?!!!) Rock the Earth, a leading environmental organization, honored Willie Nelson with the 2012 Planet Defender Award. The legendary country singer co-founded the Farm Aid festival with Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to support American family farmers. Over the course of its 25-year history, Farm Aid has raised and donated more than $30 million to promote organic and locally grown food. More recently, he branded his own Willie Nelson Biodiesel in 2005 and he was inducted into the National Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2011.
Jack Johnson: Johnson owns the building housing Brushfire Records, which is made out of eco-friendly materials from top to bottom. Not only are there solar panels on top of the roof, but there are blue jeans used as insulation inside the walls. The covers of all CDs produced there use only recycled paper. Hailing from Hawaii, he helped to develop an organization there which educates people on how to be environmentally active in their everyday lives. His ?Kokua Festival benefit concert? for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation helped to support environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaii so they will be lifelong stewards of the earth.

@Mahsinur If the texts are copied from internet or word processor, the editor can't recognize some of special letters like, ('),("). It can be solved by 1. to write the article right on the editor 2. to delete (') and (") and type them again on the editor when the body of text is copied from anywhere else :-)
