Sustainable Transport in Myanmar
Now due to the advanced technology people can use their own transport and they never prefer public transport. AS in Myanmar we prefer our own transport rather than public transport. SO let's seewhat is happening in our country due to the transport.Firstly AS we use more cars and cycles and so we need wide area to place these cars.SO we have to cutdown the trees and we have to build new buildings and car parking to place our own car.AS we cut down trees our environmentwas damaged by several gases and heat cause there is no tree to absorb these harmful gases. And then whatwe also suffer is a great climate change. Climate change can effect our health so we have to avoid lots of things but there is not much change. SO what we really need is a sustainable transport.What I regard is that using public transport more and more is a great thing for sustainable transport. If we use public transport more and more we can reduce the amount of using their own cars and transports and so we can again recover our environment. Also using biofuels is a good thing for sustainable transport.Using public transport can reduce air pollution but people will still prefer to use their own public transport. SO let's find a way for sustainable transport.We use.old time cars rather than modern updated cars and this is also.the fact that we get air pollution.SO we should change old worsened cars and we should also follow these ways to become sustainable transport 1-Checking car twice aa week Check your car diesels and please change it once a month. Also check the battery before using ALSO CHECK THE WHOLE CAR USE IT IN CORRECT WAY SO. It will help.to.make sustainable transport not harming the environment a lot. SO this a sustainable transport and I hope using public transport and reducing own cars and transport will help us making In sustainable transport.

Sustainable transport should be the top priority to handle the serious challenge of 'Climate Change' and global warming. As you too mentioned, using public transport or even sharing a car, using electric or hybrid vehicles, using biofuels are all different forms of sustainable transport. To achieve success, governments should ensure that local public transport is well developed, subsidised and convenient to use (like if trains are there then there should be enough and regular feeder buses to transport people till the station).

Wonderful report Aung! The habit of using our own transport is rampant in most of the countries as it is easy to hop on and off. In order to curtail this tendency of citizens government should invest more in the infrastructure of the public transport of the country.

Biofuel is one of the upcoming ways to ensure sustainable transport for developing countries. Of we cannot afford Electric Vehicles, at least we can drive less pollutant cars. Thanks for reporting.

That people with their own vehicles prefer using their own vehicles as opposed to public transport is true. This is mostly because public transport can be a nightmare and why go for the nightmare when you're living the dream? I think the governments need to do better and improve on public transport as it will go a long way in saving the environment.
