October 25 : Arbor Day in Algeria

Algeria celebrated Arbor Day on October 25, this day is an opportunity to remind the prestigious efforts must be made to preserve the wealth of forest as well as to sensitize the citizens more of the importance of the forest in maintaining the ecological balance, as is an occasion to sensitize and inform the public about the phenomenon of the uprooting of trees and their causes and negative consequences.

On this occasion, forest service has organized a variety of demonstrations involving educational institutions, environment houses, national gendarmerie, muslim scouts ... in photo exhibitions, film screenings, forest products exhibitions, planting trees and organize field visits and reforestation, as well as seminars and discussions on topics related to trees and forests.

    Arbor day used to be a national holiday in Korea several years ago, though now it's not. I'm glad to see kids having fun planting trees. Thanks for sharing!
