Contribution of textile industry for sustainable development

Textile industry is a diverse and heterogeneous sector as it one of the longest and most complicated value chains in manufacturing industry which brings into play actors from industry such as, agricultural, chemical fibers, non- conventional, retail services and waste management. Therefore, they are more committed to do the business more sustainable manner than other industries. These are few steps put forward along a long sustainability journey by one of Sri Lankan apparel manufacturer who was recently crowned as the Asia?s first water neutral apparel manufacturer.
