Bring Back The Color: The 3rd Time Around

by | 10-03-2017 21:37 recommendations 1

Bring Back The Color started as an
ASEAN-Indian online campaign to raise awareness about coral
bleaching.
It pioneered as a collaboration of different advocates
all over ASEAN and India.
During the early stages of the project, I had a long term
vision of implementing an online to offline approach,
of hitting the ground running and mobilizing the youth
beyond the premises of social media.

I was and still am fortunate enough to be given platforms
to bring my ideas to life.
After devising a workshop flow and program details
designed to educate, engage and
empower the next leaders of today, Let's
Do It Philippines Youth- Davao Chapter decided to make
it a banner program for their first
organization cycle of 2017. After deliberation and several
takes from different stakeholders,
LDI PH Youth Davao adopted #BringBackTheColor together with
#50ShadesOfGreen(which is now it's twin program
designated to save the canopies of the Philippines).

Since it's launching last February,
BBTC already visited 2 high schools in Davao City
to implement it's workshop.
Today, it went to to run the 3rd time around in the
Philippine Science High School,
Southern Mindanao Campus.

I gave a talk about conservation and facilitated the
action plan of the whole school.

Miss Pherly Grace Bungao also gave a talk about the
Philippines and #50shadesofGreen.

One of the youngest members of the team,
17-year old Yyoni Tiu,
gave her first Introduction to Environmental Advocacy Talk
to her school mates.
BBTC prides itself in not only engaging and mobilizing the
masses but also training people to
become effective leaders and giving them a platform to talk about the environment,
no matter how young they are.

Although, the workshop is running locally as of the moment,

BBTC dreams of replicating the workshop and

it's offline goals all over the world.

As it was founded in the shared identity and diversity of

ASEAN, it is still looking up for more opportunities for

inclusive growth not just in one locality.

The strength of BBTC is in it's belief in collaborative

effort, personal growth and environmental

consciousness.

In the end, together, we can #BringBackTheColor.

Angel, thank you for the report. I see how you are excited and at the same time giving your best to the campaign. I always admire those who participate regularly and eagerly. Since you told us about the campaign you are participating, you could tell us other campaigns in ASEAN as well as India.
