This report highlights on the tree planting exercise which I took part as FK Norway volunteer, AYESE Exchange Participant. This took place on 1st March 2017 in Mpingu area. 300 trees were planted by the students, youth club members and the partnered organisations Network for Youth Development, BCI, Development Fund of Norway and visitors from Ethiopia under My Life my Choice project. From there we had youth participation panel discussion. This took place at us embassy auditorium room. The aim was to discuss how do different organisations understand and define youth participation on environmental conservation and climate change. The panel was represented by National Youth Council, Development Fund of Norway, My Age Zimbabwe Trust, Youth Leadership Scheme Participant and the YALI Mandela Washington fellow. It was then open for the discussion and questions. |

@daon na, actually it was found that the youths are not actively engaged in environmental issues as such it was concluded that governments should introduce policies that can attract more youths to be actively engaged into environmental conservation.

Clement, thank you for sharing your experience. You look very happy when you are planting a tree. I personally have not been planting trees for years, but after reading your report, I thought maybe I should try once again soon to plant one. Thank you for the inspiration.

Congrats on massive tree plantation. Trees are the lifelines and lungs of Earth and planting trees is one of the most efficient way to combat climate change. Good job.
Panel discussions or assembling to take steps to involve youth in environment conservation-is really needed as youth are the backbone of society and they must be part of every development, every SDG and every social movement. Thanks for sharing.
