The Students' Federation of India (A Students? body) decided to plant 5 hundred thousand saplings in educational institutions all over Kerala on the occasion of World Environment Day 2017. The body's act of planting plant saplings is based on its idea of preserving the goodness of nature and water resources. As per the body, the students also dug five hundred thousand rain pits.
State level inauguration of the program was done by Minister of welfare and culture, Mr. AK Balan.
The organisation stated that workshops and debates related to the Environment were also conducted on the auspicious occasion.
The student group, SFI also focuses on other projects and in one of them it has joined hands with 400 government funded schools in Kerala and will guarantee that every child receives books and study materials so that no can miss the chance to get to quality education.

Nilanjan, thank you for your report. Five hundred thousand trees! What a work there! It is amazing that so many people all over the world are planting numerous trees, but at the same time it is sad that we still have all the environmental issues ahead of us. Tell us more about you and other Indians effort later!
