Thanks Chabala for bringing the agricultural crops in Zambia to our notice. However as I have read, agricultural sector in Zambia has not been given due importance due to heavy reliance of the country's economy on the mineral wealth, mainly copper.
An article I read, mentions that once at the forefront of the 'Green Revolution', with record breaking hybrid maize yields in the 1960s, Zambia's vast agricultural potential is yet to be tapped and farmers still rely on small scale subsistence farming. However, with recent investments in agriculture and expected policy reforms, Zambia can be a bread basket for the region considering the fertile land, favorable climate, and abundant water resources that the country enjoys. I look forward to hearing more from you in this progressive direction!
