A visit to flood affected Madi for pre-feasibility assessment

by Ashtha Lamsal | 19-08-2017 14:17 recommendations 0

Yesterday, we visited to Madi Municipality for a preliminary need assessment of the flood victim. Though had a very tough journey and were completely drenched by the rain we made a successful visit to Dhobaha, Madi where around 25 Families were badly affected and it was really painful to see the devastated scenario. 11 Families were taking a shelter in Shree Rastriya Prarthamik Bidhyalaya( A primary school building) Dhobaha, Ratani, Ward no 5. As suggested by respected Mayor Shree Thakur Sir and as the reality in the field we have decided to support selective most necessary items on Saturday.

Even in any crisis the first thing comes is dignity of life. We were happy to see all those people living together and helping each-other. The best thing was seeing them smile though they have nothing left to depend upon other then kind support by the government and beautiful helping hands.

We really had a tough journey due to the road conditions and all these. We had to cross three rivers through water because there were no bridge and those having bridge was also totally damaged and when we reach the main place where the disaster has happened the situation was really pathetic. All the paddy field had turned out to a river bank full of sand and gravel and the rooms of the school, documents, toilets were totally damaged and all the mud and sand was filled there.
