Causes of Urban heat and ways to reduce |
---|
Urban heating refers to the warmest area than its neighboring area. Air pollution has become one of the most environmental concerns in urban areas, especially in view of the adverse urban effects associated with atmospheric particles which leads to the urban heat or heat Island ,Outdoor air pollution is a mix of chemicals, particulate matter, and biological materials that react with each other to form tiny hazardous particles which increases heat. The focus of urban heat is a key air quality indicator since it is the most common air pollutant that affects short term and long term weather. Causes of urban heat there is natural causes and man made causes Volcanoes exploding this contributes when volcanoes emit huge quantities of particulates including volcanic ash and gases into the atmosphere, volcanic explosions have been directly related with climate change. Others includes, Forest and grassland fires wood and grass smoke comprise a complex mixture of particulates, Coal Combustion, Oil Combustion, Wood combustion and Industrial manufacturing plastics and other. What can we do to reduce urban heat • Restricts the use of household and personal products that cause fumes. • Conserve energy at home to reduce loads on power plants. • Do not use fire pits on Air Pollution Action Days. • Increase uses of renewable energies.
