Day 2- ACAP

Day 2nd of trekking started from Dharapani and ended in Chame, Manang which took almost whole day for us. Waving good-bye to the hotel crews and good morning to the trekkers on the way; aesthetic values of the place, picturesque landscapes, kindhearted people: these all peaked up my excitation.

It sounds as fun but seems really challenging to footslog in the steep cliffs, up and down across the rocky mountain in high altitude. After 2 hours walk from Dharapani we reached Syarque, Thanchowk, which is one of the touristic spot of the area. We were delighted with welcome greetings of local people and hotel owners. Its wow moment to be sun kissed in Himalaya and snap some photos.

Tasting local apple and products we speed our pace. Though Jeep were available as transportation medium, we had planned walking for rest of 12 days till we reach Mustang. On the one side we can see rocky towering mountains and at it base settlement area with few hotels and houses. Whenever we got tired we used to breathe in fresh air and drink pure water that energized us. Four hours later we reached Trichungalta and in about half an hour Chame our destination of the day.

About Chame Bazar:

Chame is the headquarter of Manang District in the Gandaki Zone of northern Nepal.[2] At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 1129 people living in 279 individual households. Manang District is the lowest populated district in Nepal.

One can see Chame Bazar, lying at the base of rocky mountain range on the side of Marshyangdi and Thado river enriching aesthetic beauty of this place. Chame Bazar spread in a single line of 500 meter on both sides. Though far from major market hub, one can find every item from daily use to the trekker?s need. Since height if the trekking way was increasing day-by-day we bought trekking-sticks to make us easier on the way.

After booking Tibetan Hotel beside Marshyangdi River, we were excited to Chame Bazar as it is headquarter of the District. We visited different landmarks, government offices and rivers; interacted with local people about lifestyle, challenges and opportunities faced by them.

At the end of the day we were in dire need of rest due to our restless yatra. We can feel cold breeze outside but it?s amusing to feel the warm inside the room. The 2nd day of trek was well spent. Starting from 1900 masl we reached 2710 masl footslogging 16 Kms for about 6 hours.
