Zambia is a country that loves and enjoys farming, its a country blessed with with hardworking people who enjoy farming for their families and for sale.

Fellow ambassadors, forum leaders, members and visitors Zambia is a landlocked country, but has numerous rivers, lakes and underground water resources, it is said that the country concentrates 40% of southern and central Africa's water resources on it's own.

The Zambian agriculture sector comprises crops e.g vegetables and fruits, livestock e.g cows, goats and chickens and fisheries which has to do with fish.

Zambia grows different types of crops e.g maize which is the staple crop, cotton, soybeans, tobacco, groundnuts,Paprika, sorghum, rice, sunflower, coffee, sugar, fruits etc

As you are also aware Zambia is one of the biggest seed exporter in Africa, exporting a recorded total of 17,891 tons of certified seeds to other African countries in 2011.

According to the livestock agriculture policy Draft of December 2013 (NAPD 2013),livestock is recognized as a growing force in Zambia's agricultural economy, accounting for 7%of the country's GDP.

That shows you fellow ambassadors, forum leaders, members and visitors that Zambia values agriculture a lot.

Great report Chabala! It is wonderful to know that Zambia values its agriculture so much. It is heartening to know that the agriculture is flourishing in all aspects, crops and livestock. Another thing to be noted is how diverse the crop production is. Zambia is truly setting an example for other countries to follow!!!
