Reducing ecological footprints of Dubai

by Simran Vedvyas | 13-02-2018 01:52 recommendations 0

I share some part from a valuable case study of Dubai

A decade ago Dubai had one of the largest ecological footprints of any city in the world.

By 2050 it wants to have the smallest.

Born and brought up in Dubai to be a youth I endorse this vision in solidarity and pledge that I will make every effort possible in my own small way to contribute to this vision

I recently read somewhere that Dubai is the third place after Switzerland and Japan who has managed to lower its carbon footprint drastically and amaze the entire world - Its happening.

I QUOTE FROM SOURCE- For centuries Dubai was a fishing village and trading port, small and poor. Then oil and a wild real estate boom transformed it into a city that sports the world s tallest building, one of its densest collections of skyscrapers, and its busiest airport.

In 2006 the World wildlife fund declared UAE to have a very high ecological footprint, largely because of its carbon emissions.

AND THEN THE CHANGE SET IN
Dubai started to change.

In the last decade there are thousands of ecological and sustainable initiatives that took place with everyone becoming a part of it

Dubai rulers and authority have decreed that his city will get 75 percent of its energy from clean sources by 2050, aspiring to have the smallest carbon footprint in the world.

GoOD initiative Dubai...the effort you had made in last decade is now showing its result. Remarkable effort but have to maintain, be consistent for long term then.
