Go Milo! Go Green!

September 11, 2011 was the day for the Milo Marathon Eliminations in San Pablo, the city of the seven lakes. The starting line was in the middle of the city plaza infront of our cathedral. The place was decorated with Milo banners and tarpaulins all around. There were 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K runs. I joined the 5K run with most of the high school kids. We started at 5:30 a.m. when the sun was just rising. It took me about 30 minutes to run the 5K course. Right after the run, some of the high school runners from our school joined the FSLF Kids who were doing a clean-up of the street. Of course, there was so much litter on the ground specially of cups of Milo since the chocolate drink company gave away free chocolate drinks and water to the runners. This was the same thing that we did last year. After the run, we picked up litter all around and even helped the organizers in rolling up the large tarpaulins. It was fun and tiring. Go Milo! Go Green!
