Doing something for a change

by Prayash Pathak (Chalise) | 22-03-2018 18:26 recommendations 0

Humans are undoubtly the major cause of our environmental degradation. Our activities have always been directed for our luxury, without consideration of the effects which it is causing in our environment. We have been degrading each and every aspect of our environment. But still we are not ready to accept our mistake and act for its solution. Even in the 21st century, when the technological and social advancement have taken such huge progress, we still are not being responsible for our act. One of the most recent example of this was observed by me in my city.
Just a week ago, my city (Sundarbazar) successfully organized and completed the ?8th annual Sundarbazar Fair?.  This fair holds a great prestige in my town. It invites and attracts huge masses of people from all over the neighboring towns. It has many attractions which range from commodity display and sale, cultural and traditional dance and sing display, performance of  famous singers and dancers and many more.
Though the Fair ended with a blast, But the after effects of the fair wer devastating. The fair was held in one of the local grounds, After the end of fair, the ground was completely filled with waste and dirts. It was covered with disposed plastics, bottles, papers, fliers, tickets, etc. This created a disturbance in the entire environment. Everywhere, it was polluted and dirty. The natural and aesthetic beauty of that place was completely destroyed.
Now, the question, which I want to raise is, ?Even though we are such civilized beings, why are we still acting like an inferior creatures and hampering our own natural property? ? There was abundant dustbin and waste collector, throughout the fair are, but still people were disposing the wastes hapazardly  in the ground.
I could not bear the sight, so I went to the municipal office and requested the officials to take care of the waste. After, few days, government employed personnel started cleaning and removing the waste. I also assisted them as far as possible. So, finally all I want is to request everybody to act according to their intelligence and do as much as they can to keep our environment clean.

Hello Prayash, I also thought about your self-question 'Even though we are such civilized beings, why are we still acting like an inferior creatures and hampering our own natural property?' and what it led me think of lots of things I have just done brazenly.
It is easy to make out something with techs, but it is not easy to make it get back to its former stereotype or natural character.
I think this is why we humans do face anti-natural conflicts when we do something else in various activities

Hope we can be more responsible and precise about environment and our activities!

Hello Prayash, I can see how serious the waste problem was after the fair through your photos, and I really appreciate your great effort to repair the place! Thanks!!
As the report says, if only people could trash the waste in the prepared dustbin then no extra cleaning process would be needed. This truly shows that little interest is everything that we need to conserve our nature. I hope more attention could be paid in these issues so that people would think over their actions before they actually practice it.
Again thanks for the report and keep up !!
