Eco-Friendly Corporates

by George Zacharia | 24-04-2018 02:57 recommendations 0

It was the World Earth Day on April 22nd and we have World Environment Day coming on June 5th!
44 days!
What are you planning to do? How will you make a difference?

This month's theme for all our reports is Saving Trees and Reducing Usage of Paper.

I would like to share with you many steps taken by corporates, etc which I believe can be extended to our homes, schools, etc.

I have noticed different types of notebooks in the market. Some of them have a special eco-friendly seal citing that either they have recycled paper or have planted so many trees in return of trees they cut. If the claims are true, I believe its right when we support such initiatives.

We too can recycle paper and also plant trees whenever an opportunity comes or create an opportunity. You are doing good for the planet.

Many companies have stopped use of paper cups or disposables for drinking water, etc and have supplied/asked employees to bring ceramic cups or mugs for drinking water/tea/coffee, etc. No use of disposable plastic water bottles, etc.
Imagine the amount of environment protection it will cause? The number of employees x no of bottles used per day on an average x no of working days?
For eg, 1000 x 2 x 300 = 600,000 bottles have been prevented from going to landfills!!!

Also, some have started placing bins for segregating waste and paper waste, etc are being effectively recycled.

Well, corporates are being ecofriendly by following the SDGs and not only that, I believe they could save lots of money too.
Why don't we think and make such differences in our schools, colleges and homes?

Lets start making changes.

    Hello George!
If the preference of customers changes the corporate will definitely respond to the change immediately. If every tries to appeal their interest in environment conserving by buying products from better participating companies the trend will shift. Likewise, it seems that the first thing that should happen is the change in individual. The first step towards environment conserving is to do what we can!
Small tries can make a big change!
    Thanks for the report!!

Hello George, there are many corporations putting a lot of effort and money investment to make such a phenomenal item or stuff for environment-economy linkage development.
However, there are also items that are under shades of exposed environmental problems, such as beverage straws made up of plastic.
McDonald for British branch decided not to provide plastic straws in their stores, but they planned to use paper straws as they can get dissolved into the ground when they get varied.
Choosing second-best option is not the best way, but at leas British McDonald did not want to let non-recyclable get buried thoughtlessly.
In this way, we can think of resource management and approach into eco-friendly choice.
What else can we also do to help eco-friendly corporations to develop their plans?!
