A busy drive in kigali city is enough to prove to you how this emerging city go far beyond use of cars, and fumes from factories.
despite this trait, the street found inner the city, one of the city's busiest roads and financial hub, KN4 is entitled car-free zone. in this region remarkable visionary buildings built a wall on roadsides but restricted for use of cars and vehicles. car free zone: Kigali today press to the consensus of environmental protection, the region is reserved for pedestrians and bicycles and jogging. when cities are considered generally dirty of smokes, the approach of reserving a place for pure air is an approach to allow fresh air in cities and mitigating climate change.

Hello Iphigenie!
I never knew that there is such an iconic street and city section like that in foreign countries!
In my country, we have intervals during weekend when we cannot take our cars into specific roads or lands, to keep them away from people walking down roads freely and doing some music activities.
Though roads and well-planned inter-city high ways are really efficient and helpful for us to move on, land and nature just lended their section to us as we 'artificially' changed them into our uses.
It is important to think of their meanings and re-anlayze the purpose of roads!

Considering the environment from the beginning of urbanization, which could be said as the city planning step, really is a good idea. If infrastructures and city rules could be implemented in the match with its construction planning it would help the city to conserve environment!
