Sign the petition & tell the G20 to End Subsidies for Dirty Fossil Fuels!

by Arushi Madan | 06-09-2013 17:30 recommendations 0

Recently, the European Union called on the nations of the G20 to end subsidies for fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas. The reason behind their proposal is obvious: fossil fuels are already making billions for their respective industries, all while destroying our environment and fueling climate change.

It's ridiculous that G20 nations are giving free handouts to oil, gas and coal companies instead of investing that money in clean energy.

In 2011, 22 of the wealthiest nations in the world paid nearly $60 billion in subsidies to the oil, coal and gas industries.

All the while clean energy initiatives like solar and wind power still go underfunded.

It's time to take a real stand for our environment and for clean energy in Europe and around the world. If you want to join me in sending a message to the G20 today calling for an end to fossil fuel subsidies , pl sign the petition by clicking on(I have signed and made many of my friends and family members sign it):

I agree! Governments and politicians are spending way too much money on their military defensive system and fuel industries when they should be using those money for the needs of free education and clean energy. Well done!
