Endangered Plants in Sudan

 1. African Mahogany [Khaya]

Is a large deciduous tree capable of growing up to 50m in height often with buttress roots. On older trees the bark is fairly smooth, grey to brown and flakes off in round scales. The leaves are compound and reddish when young, turning green with age. Flowers appear as branched clusters, white and sweetly scented, the fruit is a spherical woody capsule revealing winged seeds.

This species provides one of the most important timber woods in Africa.

It is a species of legume in the Fabaceae family.

3.  Anopyxis  Klaineana

 Is a species of plant in the Rhizophoraceae family.

4. Beilschmiedia Ugandensis

 Is a species of plant in the Lauraceae family.

5. Combretum Rochetianum

7. Cordyla Richardii

 Is a species of legume in the Fabaceae family.

8. Dracaena Ombet [Dragon Tree]

Is a species of plant in the Dracaenaceae family

9. Hallea Stipulosa

10. Nubian Desert Palm [Argun Palm]

11. Vitellaria Paradoxa [Shea Butter Tree]

Is a species of plant in the Sapotaceae family

    About the Nubian Desert Palm, I am sorry to hear that it is endangered. In my country, Cambodia, I am not sure if we have it but we have palm tree everywhere. Maybe we can do something? :)
