Environmental justice is the fair treatment and
meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. one of the environmental problem faced in Zambia is deforestation, people cut trees for charcoal production and the poor are blamed for deforestation, I have taken some surveys and asked some of the people who sale charcoal and what I have found out is that they do it for a living, they want to put food on the table so they resort to cutting trees and using them to make charcoal then sale. the Government has been working hard to seeing to it that deforestation is brought to an end or reduced Thank you for reading. |

Hello Chabala
When laws are enforced I believe that it should be done in a two dimensional way. The first is to achieve the objective, which in this case will be about degrading deforestation. The second will be to compensate those who will be having critical damage in the maintenance of life. I hope some other policies could b embedded so that it could help the lives of these people
Thanks for the report

Hello Chabala, like what you mentioned in your last reports, I see what's the main environmental problem for Zambia.
Being sustainable and keeping up with it are really hard work to do so, but integrated approaches from government and citizens may lead all of them to get to the equilibrium, meeting the needs for roads to get to the sustainable society!
Thanks for letting us know more about Zambia :)

Hi Chabala!
It is unfortunate that the people have to resort to cutting sown trees in order to make a living for their families. In stead of the government just reducing or putting deforestation to a complete halt, why not focus on providing social grants to the people so as to improve their standard of living? that way, the citizens will not resort to cutting down trees.
Many thanks for the report!
