International Environmental law Part one: ENVIRONMENTAL LAW . PRINCIPLES International Environmental law (IEL) refers to the attempt of controlling pollution and the deletion of natural resources with a framework of sustainable development. As any other low?s importance; IEL also acts as a guideline as to what is accepted in society. Without it there would be conflicts between social groups and communities. The little difference between IEL and other lows it that the conflicts that arise from not following IEL is based on environment mostly natural resources but others has nothing to deal with natural resources. Since I made this through reading many articles, books and journals I would loved to recommend you, after having this summary and you feel more interested, you can concern the reference provided. By the end of this you will be able to understand and explain the five main ENVIRONMENTAL LAW PRINCIPLES that will help you to create a better living for the future generation by obeying and following them. N?1 the precautionary principle There is a say in Kinyarwanda, ?aho kwica gitera wakwica ikibimutera? let me use an example to understand this say in English. If your apple tree is not giving healthy fruits, do not think to clear your apple tree because it not productive; it might be less productive due to the unfertile soil it stands on and the soil may be bad as that, due to that it does get enough amount of (water, fertilizers,..Etc) what needed to make your tree productive. Precautionary principle also work in this way, it is better to control the activity that may have environmentally harmful consequences rather than waiting for incontrovertible scientific evidence. N?2 the prevention principle It is much easier, cheaper and less environmentally dangerous to prevent environmental harm than reacting to the harm that had already taken a place. I found Prevention principle as a key behind all environmental laws regulating treatment, storage and the disposal of hazardous waste, laws regulating the use of pesticides. All those laws obey the principle of prevention. N?3 the ?polluter pays? principle This is a dominant concept in environmental law. Since the early 1970s many educated people claimed that much environmental harm is caused by producers who externalize the costs of their activities. For instance factories and industries that emit dangerous gases into the atmosphere or discharge untreated chemicals to the river pay a little to dispose of their waste. Accordingly, the aim of many environmental regulations is to force the polluters to bear the real cost of their pollution. Theoretically, such measures will encourage producers to make cleaner products or use cleaner technologies that won?t harm the environment much. N?4 the integration principle Various jurisdictions like the united state and European Union and businesses organizations have integrated environmental considerations into their decision making processes through environmental impact assessment mandates and other provisions. N?5 public participation principle This principle works as a win-win approach in Biodiversity conservation, the public must be tough the importance of not harming their environment, and again they must now that some environmental laws are there to punish those who goes against them. This principle gives a chance the public to influence the decision through writing comments or hearings before the government takes an action that can affect the environment. We have come along, and as we discussed above the main principles of Environmental law. I hope you are now able to explain to your fellows and protect the planets for your descendents, for the future generation and for our own good. Follow the principles you will have no conflicts with me?Oops? ooh no sorry!! You will have no conflict with the nature. So let us move on with part two... Shall we? Hello Yves, other ambassador of our E-gen family introduced several specific environmental laws to us a couple of months ago (Rahul did so!)
Going back to read his report and coming back to your report now, integrated forms of explanation about principles of environmental laws and its composition are so easy and fluent to read :)
Thanks for organizing principles of environmental laws, and this would help other ambassadors, too!

Hello Yves
I didn't know that there were certain principles established concerning international environmental law. By making distinctions as precautionary, prevention, polluter pays, integration and public participation it makes things clearer!
Thanks for sharing :)
