In a groundbreaking effort to encourage a green lifestyle , one of Middle East?s most well-known innovation ventures namely Dubai Properties opened doors to the newly-built Dubai Green Wall. The eye-enrapturing structure is a mind-boggling 210 metres in length making it the longest in the Middle East and was inaugurated last month at the Dubai Wharf.

Standing simultaneously as a historic symbol of tradition and heritage,  the wall is situated in the centre of Culture Village with a view encompassing the ancient Dubai Creek and beyond.

Yet what truly makes this structure worthy of grandeur and praise is perhaps not  its pristine architecture or cultural significance but its role as a harbinger to a sustainable tomorrow. This is more than evident from its well-researched and studied scientific paraphernalia along with a staggering 80,000 plants, able to mitigate approximately 4.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) every year.

Raed Al Nuaimi, who is  the group chief executive officer at Dubai Properties, remarked, ?As one of the top 20 happiest countries in the world and the happiest in the Arab region, according to the World Happiness Report 2018, the UAE is a keen supporter of sustainable living environments that are known to enhance the quality of life and elevate happiness levels.

Green architecture is quickly capturing the fast-pace pulse of the real estate market around the world and the Dubai Wharf Green Wall is leading the way in the Middle East, especially in green construction by using geotextile grow bags with peat substrates enriched with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK).

As a fruitful result of this understanding, the green wall is designed to cooldown temperatures in its vicinity by as much as 5 degree Celsius. This bio-friendly approach improves root growth, irrigation and drainage in the Middle East?s climatic condition that is frequently dominated by the stifling heat of its lengthy summers.
