Let's do it Romania is a campaing for cleaning the green areas of garbage. Maybe poor education, or just the lack of interest, had taken an this uncontrolled garbage mess.

After the success of the first three editions of 2010, 2011 and 2012, involving more than 650 000 volunteers who have managed to collect over 1.6 million bags of waste, National Cleaning Day in Romania has become a tradition that join Romanians everywhere. The project brings together authorities, companies, NGOs, media representatives, public and volunteers, who work togheater  to clean up the whole country in a single day. This year, National Cleaning Day is September 28.

The cleaning pricess starts with the mapping stage, a stage which requires the involvement of all the county teams of volunteers in the identification of the garbage heaps of natural areas. From June until September, volunteers will create waste map of Romania with an electronic map, updated in real-time that can be accessed through mobile applications.

Volunteers go into the field and identify piles of garbage in selected areas by using GPS. Then, fill a form with details relevant to cleaning day: what types of waste pile is in composition, volume, elements of difficulty in terms of access or transport waste and full description of the points of reference and how access is made. Finally, volunteers enter data for each pile for online maps, with full details of the sheet pile. All who contribute to the Map Waste can upload heaps of garbage outside the cities identified by visiting project application http://app.letsdoitromania.ro Section Add trash.

Besides the classical methods of mapping, starting this year, users have at their disposal  an application for smartphones with Android or Windows operating system: TrashOut app, available in Android Market. Like the app for iOS (iPhone) with friends LET'S DO IT, ROMANIA! are already familiar, TrashOut is a free application. Piles identified using these applications go directly to app.letsdoitromania.ro and will be cleaned by volunteers on September 28, 2013 National Cleaning Day.
