Early Skills building in Nigeria

by Alesandra Ibobo | 01-09-2018 15:28 recommendations 0

Skills development is a critical thing in a child's life.Vocational education is the engine for economic growth in the country. investing in skill training is critical as no nation can compete effectively in the emerging global marketplace with poorly educated and unskilled workers. This can go a long way by helping the individual to become self reliant. It also reduces over dependency on government jobs and reduces the level of unemployment in a country.
This is why AI Foundation Ng organized an early skills building event tagged "Train up a child" in Abuja, Nigeria. This project aims at bringing out the creative side of children through arts and craft. The children learnt a lot and also had a drawing competition for them to pour out their imagination on paper

Nice report, Alesandra! Everyone has some creative abilities, ranging from art or writing, all that way to films or music. Encouraging the youth to bring out these talents at an early age will benefit the children of the nation. Looking at this initiative with a long term mindset, it will contribute to the future of the nation as well. Great to see how people are working towards opening the mind from a young age! :D

    Hello Alesandra!
Education is really important that it provides the individual the power to strive for oneself and the possibility to dream dreams. It should be prioritized within various aids because this is the ultimate long-term help that one could provide!
    Thanks for the report :)

    Hi Alexandra!

Practical and theoretical skills goes a long way in a child's life. So much so that it breaks many negative bonds that could tie the child from developing. It is so great to know that such non government organisations strive to evoke that spirit of art that's lying dormant in the minds of the children!

I hope that competition /event continues to bring out a fruitful outcome for the children.

    Lovely report!
