I Had Dream |

I had dream I had a dream. Not just like those of Luther king. Mine was not religious. But before I tell you what I dreamt about last night, can you do me a favor? Just think about this. A Tree releases oxygen that we use in our daily respiration, ozone layer provide a good protection from some dangerous ultraviolet rays that could cause skin cancer, soil came as a place where that tree stands on. Then my question is what do you think will happen if one of the threes (tree, ozone layer and soil) had a problem? You all have many answers that you can give to this according to your analysis and I hope all should be true. And I leave that for the comments. But according to me, here is what I think will happen.  With no tree, we will live in deserts, no food and global warming will occur which will eventually leads us to the destruction of ozone layer. Many people will die from hunger and the resistant ones skin cancer will lead their path. With damaged soil, the same thing will happen. No food, no tree, no oxygen and I may even say that in short period of time we will have no human race on the Earth. But still the destruction of ozone layer will speed up our death in that case. So let us assume that we have healthy trees from good soil.  Do you think anything bad will happen to the lovely protective layer, found in stratosphere of the Earth about 6.2 miles that containing a high concentration of ozone, which absorbs most of the ultraviolet radiation reaching the Earth from the sun? Of course if this is the case nothing bad will happen, we will be saved from all the disasters mentioned above.How to achieve that? To be in such paradise we all wish for, we have first to ensure that we have a healthy soil to which every green will have a possibility to grow on. The good solution on this issue should be the reduction of harmful chemical usage in Agriculture. Here it came again, the Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM – Is a system that maintains the population of any pest, or pests, at or below the level that causes damage or loss, and which minimizes adverse impacts on society and environment. Before I go far with IPM, needed to show you first, The link between the soil and the preservation of ozone layer. I can bet, now you are like, No no no. This is impossible. You just started telling us that you had a dream. And you are concluding without telling us about the dreams you had? OOOH do not worry my friend am about to the go for it. I had dream that one day IPM will save our mother earth from ozone layer destruction. |

Hello Yves, I remember reading reports about the IPM system and do agree to the importance that it has on keeping healthy soils that can breed trees for a better environment.
The way the report gives us questions is nice as it makes us come up with our own answers and then to compare and develop the thoughts more as we read through the report!

I have finally read your report and I could see the correlation between soil, trees and the ozone layer. But what I think is the big factor that should be considered here are anthropogenic activities.
Even if we have millions or billions of healthy hard working trees, the release of harmful gases should be mitigated to ensure the full recovery or security of our ozone layer.
