UAE Encourages Electric Vehicles

by Rohan Kapur | 13-11-2018 16:46 recommendations 0

The UAE government has announced an award for ensuring improvements in the electric vehicles in this region. The weather of this region is hot and humid and therefore electric vehicles need to be rugged enough to withstand such high temperatures. The durability of the battery, fast charging, capacity of charging, wireless charging and disposal of batteries are important ingredients for a successful run of such eco-friendly vehicles. Sustainability comes at a cost which is significantly higher at this point in time. Efforts are underway to mitigate this cost and introduce smart innovations so that these vehicles may run on the roads seamlessly like other petrol or diesel vehicles.

This award will go a long way in encouraging university students & research scholars to come forward to innovate systems in the autonomous and eco-friendly vehicle sector. This is the future of transportation and earlier it is implemented, the better it is.

Hybrid taxies are already introduced in the UAE and the local electricity service provider has provided over 200 electric vehicle charging stations all over the country.

This is a humble beginning & there is a long way to go before the green infrastructure will take over all the economy. At the current level of global warming, it is imperative that we must go green in all directions.

Some pics of hybrid vehicles in the UAE are attached.

Thanks Gyeongrin. You are correct. as usual. Government subsidies & large scale production will reduce the cost in the long run.

Hello Rohan, many motor companies are providing and planning electric car or mobile capability projects in near future. It has been just treated or acknowledged as 'future industry', but now it has become 'compulsory industry' for our generation, and for future generation.
Thanks for letting us know what UAE is planning these days for national environment!

    Hello Rohan
Costs are high when things are at its starting point because the used technique is still expensive and the infrastructure isn't quite established enough for the economy of scale. However, as the report shows, with the association with governmental aids, we will be able to achieve long-term sustainability!
    Thanks for sharing :)
