Junk Art Competition on the theme Beat Plastic Pollution After successfully completion of awareness of “Plastic Pollution and Management” in 12/11/2018 in Valmiki Shiksha Sadan, we conducted “Junk Art Competition” on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” today. There were about 40 participants in the competition with amazing art and crafts made from unwanted materials and plastic wares. Students were noticed about the competition 2 day before. We categorized competition in three basis; Presentation, Material used and Appearance. Each basis was of 50 full mark and crafts/arts with plastic waste was given priority. All participants were given one pen/pencil/sticky note sent by Tunza Eco-generation. Each student presented their crafts in front of judges and judges gave marks on the basis as I mentioned above. From 40 student we awarded 7 students with promotional goods from Tunza Eco-generation and certificates from Valmiki Shiksha Sadan. Pyush Sapkota- 1st Niksha Adhikari – 2nd Diwash Neupane – 3rd Salin Mahato, Amisha Adhikari and Yojana Sai were awarded with consolation certificates. Khemlal Pahari sir and Gita Rani mam judged all the creative objects made by brilliant students. All the crafts were really beautiful and creative made by innocent hands. I was very much pleased by the performance of students. I am very thankful to Er Sunil Subedi and Khem sir who did assist me during all process to make both programs successful. I also want to thank Prakash Subedi sir, Hari sir, Gita mam and whole team of Valmiki Shiksha Sadan who made equal contribution to make this program successful. I provided a USB drive to Sunil Subedi who assists me from the beginning of the program till the end. Awareness about plastic pollution is a need in today’s world where in every minute we are using 1 million tons of plastic. Competition always makes student to do more research and hard work in the topic so I conducted these programs. As an ambassador I have lots of duty to do and I am trying to do my best to make our environment beautiful and healthy. I am so proud of you and the hard work you put into organising and managing the competition until the end! It is truely a good sight to see a fellow ambassador push through with advocating against plastic pollution in form of a competition. This competition definitely opened the eyes of all the participants into understanding that plastic pollution is a big problem.
And you have done a great job and allowing them to be imaginative and reuse plastic items in order to creative such wonderful art!
I am an art person myself and to see how you have successfully completed the competition is amazing.

Events with such engaging activities really seem to be an incredible way to bring more youths conscious to environmental problems. By giving students the chance to actually think and make things by their own provides encouragement and more insights!
