Hello,
In this report, I would like to talk about a great book which I have read and which I really encourage you to read. If you are interested in renewable energy sources, this is definitely a publication to choose. The title of the book is Sustainable Energy - without the hot air by David MacKay. In the following paragraphs, I would like to talk about points which made this book so special for me and why you should really read it.
The author analyses different ways we use energy and a variety of possibilities to produce energy using renewable resources. The analysis is based on estimations and calculations conducted by the author. These numbers actually show how much energy we use, how much we can save by improving our appliances and how much energy we are able to produce using alternative energy sources. In the same time, it actually shows how much there is actually to be done to transform the energy sector into more sustainable. Since all calculations are based on not very complicated maths, they are very understandable and therefore illustrate well the issue of energy production. This approach is also very stimulating for the reader - you need to follow each step presented to get the gist of the message. I actually really enjoyed doing some estimations by myself and then obtain numbers which are very close to real data. The same is done by the author. Estimations are juxtaposed with real values, and they are usually very close
In addition, as I am also interested in new technologies, I really enjoyed additional final chapter, which clearly describe physicals principles behind renewable energy sources. You will be able to learn how a wind turbine exhaust energy from wind and whether energy efficiency of planes can be improved. Everything is explained in a very clear and interesting way, so it is worth delving in these chapters. I highly recommend that even if you are not so keen on science. I think it is very important to understand what stands behind all those technologies which allows as to live more eco-friendly.
In conclusion, the book is a must-read for all people interested in environmental issues, but also for anyone who does not have any background knowledge. This book actually transformed my view of renewable energy and the contribution of a society that should be made to make the change visible. All the numbers and calculations are very compelling and provide clear evidence of statements provided by the author. In addition, a wide range of resources for further reading provided at the end of the chapters will allow you to continue your journey with renewable energies. As a result, I highly recommend reading this book thanks to its reliability, quality of information, as well as entertainment which it provides. Sources: MacKay, D. (2016). Hello Adrianna, though the thumbnail that I saw right after searching the book in portal site seemed to be simple and fun, it looks like the content it contains sounds very complicated and requires quite a lot of mathematical skills to go through it. Conceiving the better way of living standard and means for our generation, sustainable energies have been compulsory energies that we have to pick for our future.
Still lacking importance to use it instead of fossil fuel, power of oil makes us depend on oil-powered society and infrastructure.
However, it will change someday and we need to prepare for that, right?
Thanks for introducing a tough book though it would have made you spend a lot of time reading it!

Hello Adrianna
Books really widen our viewpoint as it is a set of integrated knowledge elaborated by people who have pondered on the question before us and after reading these fine books, we get to achieve a better starting point on the question. This book truly shows how technology, especially those concerning energy could give us a turning point on environmental issues!
Thanks for the recommendation :)

Hi Rosa,
Yes that is true I could not post more frequently because of loads of assessments I have had at school. But I read this book and I just had to share with you my excitement about it.

Hey Adrianna!
I trust you are well. It's been a while since I've seen a report from you and it excited me to this this one up.
We really consume a considerable amount of energy, energy that can be generated via an alternative, and rather Earth friendly way. I read a similar report by another ambassador about a much read book with mathematical calculations which are easy to follow, so I am now under the assumption that a lot of sustainable development books are being published.
I truely think that we should know exactly how much we use and how we can minimise the overuse as well and I think this book does just that.
I'll look it up and I thank you for your report update Adrianna!
Yours sincerely
