Nepal has been divided into provinces with decentralization of power. The local government can form rules and utilization and distribution of resources. Local actions must be taken about environment to bring about sustainable development in our society and country. Recently I visited Besisahar Municipality and I had talked with the mayor about the environment situation of the region. He said that Besisahar Municipality has planned to declare the area as Environment Friendly Region. He also said that Municipality has already started the awareness campaign. He also congratulated me for being the winner of Eco Hero Award and requested to work together for building a better environment to live for us. I also found a local newspaper where Municipality has requested all of the people of the region to create environment friendly region. I have also attached the photo of the newspaper with this report. The awareness campaign has encouraged people to do the following activities. 1) Properly dispose the household waste and make compost with the biodegradable materials. 2) Use more efficient source for electricity replacing old bulbs with LED Bulbs 3) Manage waste according to their category 4) Plant tree in all the empty space. 5) Use of renewable sources of energy 6) Keeping Environment Clean 7) Using toilet and construction of toilet at each house. 8) Use of Eco bags instead of plastics 9) Use of safe and clean water 10) Spreading knowledge about environment protection to all people Similar activities was recorded in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. With the aim to keep environment clean and green, plantation program was conducted at the empty space between roads with the support of Better Chitwan and Mali Dai. I was glad that I could encourage few of my friends to participate in these awareness program too. My friend Pallabi Shrestha to participated in this program. Our small from local level can also create great Impact. So, we must take our activities seriously and work for the environment.

Local actions is important as it is would be the staring point for bigger acts.
Also it is important that local actions do know what the region needs more than any other large span events.
It is nice to know that your works are bringing more people in to the protecting of our environment :)

Hello Kushal, keeping in touch with local government and paying attention to regional environmental status are basic consciousness-awakening activities of local action.
By doing so, we can expect others' participation too.
