I'm impressed of sharing with you this great project that is ongoing to benefit East African Region. The project is intended to inspire and promote climate change research across the region. The project is also under the Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment (AGAGE) network stations, which only operates in 12 locations across the world. AGAGE network stations have been measuring long-lived green house gases since 1978, and the new established network station in Rwanda which is installed on the highest mountain in Rwanda (Mt Kalisimbi) shall capture and quantify emissions across East African Region to resolve and fulfill the challenge of lacking adequate date on ground research projects. In order to ensure the highest productivity of the station, the government trained technical experts to specialize in the field of atmospheric chemistry instrumentation. They have been trained to be very familiar with sensitive scientific instrumentation, to perform data analysis, and quality control. The station will be used for capacity building as well across the region. Since 2016, the University of Rwanda called its first application for Masters of Climate Science for East African Students. The initial class counted for more than 40 students. In that case, the station is regarded as an instrument that will be used for students' research and training. By closing, the AGAGE network station in Rwanda aim to collect climate change indicators including relevant date, increase scientific capacity across East African Region, and contribute to climate change mitigation as well as policies implementation. The project is being implemented by the government in collaboration with MIT. Source: Rwanda Ministry of Education (Mineduc) |

Hello Ishimwe, surprised to see such ardent students to participate in atmospheric chemistry instrumentation :) And establishing such training program to develop professionals into climate observatory field will definitely devote to better future of the field in the end!
Thanks for sharing a case of Rwanda, hope it goes really well :)

Hi Ishimwe!
Thank you for sharing this good news. :) I think the world is slowly changing. Even though it is insufficient. This project is about the trace greenhouse gas and it can help many other countries and organizations improve the solution of the problem which the green house gas occurs. I hope these kind of research get bigger and diversify. Then we can live together with the nature in a pristine area.
Thanks :D

Hello Ishimwe
Green houses gases like carbondioxide, Nitrogen oxides are the major cause of climate change. We must know the data on how much of it is produced and what's the trend of production so that proper adaptation and mitigation measures can be selected and applied.
Thank you for your report regarding the establishment of research station in Rawanda. I could like to congratulate you and your country regarding the efforts against climate change. Hope this research stations will be able to record and analyse the data that could help Rawanda in great time.
I am looking forward for your next report. Hope you keep writing great reports.
Best wishes from your fellow ambassador from Nepal.
Green Cheers :) :) :)

Hey there Ishimwe!
I trust you are well!
I have been seeing a numerous count of articles on Climate change and air pollution. This is very interesting.
I commend the Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment (AGAGE) for this advancement in atmospheric chemistry data collection. I also admire how this institute is being used to train the students at the University of Rwanda.
I hope greater advancements come from this establishment.
Thank you for Reporting Ishimwe!
Yours sincerely
Rosa Domingos
