On October 17, NASA ICE posted a picture of perfectly-shaped iceberg floating in the middle of Antartica in Facebook and shocked a lot of people online. Here¡¯s the screenshot of it. Most people might think that the iceberg was human-made, but no, according to Kelly Brunt, an NASA ICE scientist, it was formed by the process that¡¯s common among other icebergs. There are two kinds of iceberg. The first one are the triangular one, the one that Titanic hit and sank. Everyone knows how that iceberg looks like. And there¡¯s a ¡®tabular iceberg¡¯. Tabular icebergs are wide, long like sheet cakes, split from the ice shelves. She said the process is similar with ¡®fingernails growing too long and cracking off the end. What was unusual about this one is it looks perfectly like the square. Moreover, the iceberg that is visible is only 10% of the real size. As we can see, Earth¡¯s environment make us humans amazed, filled with excitement. Isn¡¯t that iceberg so amusing? But the problem is, we are destroying the Earth right now. Let¡¯s take action to stop global warming. |
