What if we could slow down global warming by spraying chemicals in the air? |

I have a question for you guys. What if we had a chemical that could solve global warming if we sprayed it in the air. Would you use it without thinking about the problems or risks that might happen in the future? Published in the journal Environmental Research Letters on Nov 23 by researchers from Harvard and Yale University, they concluded that ‘stratospheric aerosol injection’ could slow down global warming. This is spraying chemicals into the atmosphere to reflect the sun’s heat back into space so even though the Earth gets warm, it happens slowly. We could spray the large amount of chemical by using huge airplanes carry tanks to fill them in and be able to spray them in high altitude. Also, this way is available if one determined country decided to do this. The cost is half the price large cities spend on their highways, subways, a total of about $3.5 billion for developing the technology. But, there is a problem. Just because we spray the chemicals don’t mean we actually solve or reverse global warming. Also, scientists are still not sure what risks or problems will happen in the future. Moreover, they are assuming the climate after this happens won’t be same. Some places will be hotter, some places will be cooler. What do you guys think about this idea? Do you think we should start developing technologies on making spray planes? Thanks for reading this article.

Hello Rock, nature itself is changing drastically without notice and we notice such changes usually late. They do change themselves to get adapted to climate change and global warming, and we sometimes forget about this fact when we approach such natural problems, resulting in unexpected culmination.
Likewise, use of chemical compounds may trigger result to fall into something we did not expect, and we have to get aware about this.

As environmental issues are quite sensitive and interconnected with various factors, it needs pretty much caution to actually practice something new as we cannot 100 percent predict the result. However, it is nice to know that science is being developed in a way to improve the current environmental matters!
Hope more scientifical results and evidence could back up this good news!

We must be sure about the negative impacts that it might cause at the beginning. As we have seen chemicals beings so much hazardous, this might also turn out to be the one impacting our nature. It must be assured first before we use chemicals. They can be used when we don't have any other alternatives though but its not the case.
