SUBJECT:REGIONAL GOVERNMENT SCALE-UP CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECTS Mpumalanga province has become a public publicity norm over climate change phenomena. Positioning as a province which considerably sets out recognised as amongst global pollution contributors having accounted as influencer of global warming and climate change. On October 2018, digital news media houses: Moneyweb and Business Report issued an article edition detailing an investigative report synopsis containing the findings of the recent ¡°Global Environment Standards¡± research conducted and consolidated by key international environmental agencies. In such regard, Mpumalanga posed and sustained high record levels as of pollutant state-more than all other province regions combined. The prior climate change ramification effects once exposed to and experienced conditions within respective municipalities. Droughts, dust storms, heatwaves and uneven rainfall distributions are miniscule catastrophic weather conditions prior encountered. Environmental factors/ challenges associated, discovered: •Social: -Rural and township residing residents performing deforestation and burning carbon dioxide wood as for fire) cooking source due to non-availability/and expensive electricity chargers. -The burning waste materials (tyres) especially during winter seasons, and protest actions. -Burning of waste, electronic waste at illegal dumping sites •Economic: -Industrial gaseous emission particulars released. -Farms using genetically modification chemicals. -Mines releasing carbon dioxide gasses and acidity toxins into atmosphere,water,soil,vegetation sources. -Forestry corporates perform deforestation-removing pivotal vegetation-climate resilience sources. -Coal-fired power station releasing excessive carbon dioxide particulars into atmosphere. In pursuit to minimize and annihilate the scourge effects intra community, a direct intervention sought enforcement. The following governmental spheres established a cooperative- governance relation involved are, respectively: •National Government: -Department of Water and Sanitation[DWS]; -Department of Environmental Affairs[DoEA]. •Provincial Government: -Department of Agriculture,Rural Development and Environmental Affairs[Dardlea]; -Department of Public Works,Roads and Transport[DPWRT]; -Department of Health m[DoH] and; -Department of Community Safety,Security and Liaison[DCSSL]. These government established the interminesterial relationship,adopting a research method set to develop a risk strategy policy sub auspices to identify,assess,evaluate climate change environmental risk effects. The risk strategy policy focuses on working through the following 3aspects: 1) Infrastructure development and growth; 2) Social upliftment and; 3) Technology. It herewith regarded that achieve and realising the 3 strategy points requires project management and analysis therefore a socio-bureaucratic-governance relationships set introduction through the following: •Citizens •Business •Government The following are planned projects in aid to ease climate change effects relief by: 1] Government: •Replacing/substituting household excessive light bulbs with energy efficient light bulbs. •Introducing jojo ranks and renewable energy parks. •Introduce large community section waste metal dustbins. •Introduce "No dumping "metal signs. •Introduce restrictive dumping bi-laws 2] Companies: •Restore land, water and atmosphere environmental sources through rehabilitation •Invest Corporate Social Investment/Responsibility (CSI/R) for new innovative climate projects funding. •Develop an environmental friendly security charter and model. 3] Citizens: •Community environmental (paper waste, litter) clean-ups days, especially during Mandela Day initiative. •Articulate and advocate Green living framework adoption workshop during Earth Day. •Implement Green Environmental Indaba consultative forum to exchange, engage about environmental information conservation, preservation and sustainability. •Prepare community campaign about "Keep my community world -our responsibility clean" from climate change. |

I have read your reports and I find them really interesting as you have focused on different environmental aspects in your region Mpumalanga province. Glad to hear that regional gvernement has scale-uped Climate Change projects. Government must focus on the climate change projects from the grass root level including adaptation and mitigation measures.
