This is my first report as an ambassador. I realize I'm a little late but I've been so busy this month travelling and spreading environmental education across the country. I'd like to share some of my experiences of Jammu, India.
I collaborated with WWF India and went to remote areas in Jammu with a team of 4 people for promoting environmental education in schools. The remote area schools in Jammu are improving a lot in India but they still lack in providing environmental education to the students. So we decided to visit the schools and promote the same.
We conducted small events for students like model making competition, symposium, etc. My seniors in the team also gave a workshop to the teachers on how they should provide the necessary environmental education to the students.
On field environmental education is the most powerful weapon to teach the kids so we took the kids to a visit in the local areas. I taught them about the importance of plants in our life, about biodiversity conservation and about saving water and electricity. We discussed about the local animals and plants found in the region. During our trip we enjoyed a lot and I could see the glow and happiness on the faces of students. That hope in their eyes was my reward.
