There is substantial evidence that human activities contribute to the build-up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere leading to gradual rise in global temperatures.
The earth's climate is determined in large part by the presence in the atmosphere of naturally occurring greenhouse gases, including in particular water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, CFCs, nitrous oxide and tropospheric ozone. The negotiation of a treaty to address climate change and its effects was formally set in motion by the UN General Assembly and the specialized agencies. The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (1992 Climate Change Convention) was signed by 155 states. Concerned with the climate effects in Myanmar, dry zone agricultural sector was effected due to extreme high temperature; eg. The severe drought in 2009 affected major cereal crops, in 2010; it diminished the village water resources and destroyed agricultural yields. Climate change also caused deterioration of the mangroves, coral reefs and seagrass beds by affecting the coastal and marine environment. Increasing sea temperatures and changes to sea water chemical composition affected marine biodiversity, particularly coral reef ecosystems. The induced disasters like cyclones caused losses in livestock populations while extreme high temperatures lead to pests and disease outbreaks. Climate change is also likely to affect both the distribution and composition of forests in Myanmar. Short period of monsoon, due to late onset and early withdrawal with large quantities of rain falling over short periods, leading to flooding, contamination of water resources, erosion and limited replenishment of waterways. Inlay Lake, the famous tourist attraction site, was impacted due to severe soil erosion and sedimentation for the reason of degradation in vegetation cover and poor land management, resulting in the lake becoming shallower. The climate change is cause not only by nature but also by human, So we should endeavor to avoid making it worse by our actions. There were already lots of thousands lives had been lost by our regretful carless manners on our environment. Is it worth to be happen? Please rethink your thoughts before you make the action. |

Hello Hnin Phyu Sin!
Thank you for your wonderful report about the climate change in Myanmar. I really could get the glimpse of what??s happening in Myanmar by your report and others would have been able to do the same. Climate change and its subsequences usually cause natural disasters such as floods or droughts that deteriorates human??s welfare. Also, thank you for pointing out that our actions can make a change. Keep up the good work!

Hello Hnin
Climate change has impacts almost every nation more or less. It is a global issue of concern. We all must focus on paris agreement and move accordingly. We must change before the climate change changes our planet. Thank you for your report about impacts of climate change in Myanmar.
Green Cheers from Nepal :)
Keep writing great reports.
We are eager to read more reports from you.
Yours,

Hi Hnin,
Thank you for writing about the impact of climate change in Myanmar, and it seems that the climate change has substantial impact on Myanmar in various sectors. In fact, agricultural sector of South Korea has been affected greatly due to the high temperature that is resulted from the global warming. If the climate change continues, we will be faced with even more tough challenges in the future. Thus, it is crucial for us to realize the climate change is real, and do whatever we can.
Great work Hnin! :)

Hi Hnin,
The fact of anthropogenic activities being an accelerating agent in global change is a fact that has now gain global attention. What is unfortunate about this is how this has caused the loss of many lives, water resources and agricultural yields.
Moreover, the natural barriers that is supposed to protect against this event in coastal areas, such as mangroves, have also suffered a great loss in terms of biodiversity. I also agree with you Hnin, that anthropogenic activities should be looked into with alot of thought because what we are doing the the planet is uncalled for.
Thank you for reporting! I look forward to your next report!
Sincerely, Rosa.
