Me and my family have a rich taste on crafts. When we moved to our new "Flat", we wanted to convert it into a masterpiece. We did a bit of works here and there (through third party). Then we got ourselves a masterpiece. One of my uncle asked why I used wooden stuffs that require cutting trees. Well, it?s pretty simple. It is termed as responsible sourcing. When we bought the timbers, we bought it from a place that re-plants saplings on the same place of the first tree. Not only so, they also take care of it.
I also have a taste in Music. I play electric bass guitar. It was bought from the company ?Ibanez?. They also re-plant the wood they use on their guitars, basses and amplifiers. Tone-woods can be really rare and under serious threat from the artist. Even I see dreams of owning a bass with Brazilian Rosewood-neck, American Ebony-fingerboard and Latin-American/German Korina-Body. But, these are extremely rare and quite pricey. If it was responsibly sourced in the first place, then it would not be in this way. So, I urge upon all the Eco-warriors to save trees. But if you indeed need them, please buy them from a responsible source.
Here are some Pictures:
