Bio-diversity

by Rohan Kapur | 12-05-2019 13:11 recommendations 0

What is Biodiversity? It is the variety of plant and animal life in the eco-system or a specific region, a high level of which is considered to be important & desirable. In this unique world, biodiversity plays an important rather meaningful role. Each species has a significant role to play in our Eco-system, it may be a small insect or an animal, all are integral part of our Eco-system. One plays as a survival medium for the other. Example is pollination by bees confirms the existence of crops. Meaning, the food we eat is a gift by the bees. It seems strange but this is the fact & therefore, the biodiversity is the essence of human existence.

Broadly there are 3 types of Biodiversity:
1. Genetic Diversity [Within the species]
2. Species Diversity [Between the species]
3. Ecosystem Diversity [Between the Eco-system]

As you might be aware that we humans are responsible for considerable destruction of the biodiversity of our planet, therefore our existence & survival has become questionable. It is rather bizarre that we are killing our own species and risking our future generations. The common reasons of loss of biodiversity are Global Warning [caused by human actions like fossil fuel burning etc.] cutting the forests for making factories & houses, taking over the farm lands used for cultivation, overpopulation and causing pollution of all types.

The climate change occurs when there is a considerable loss of biodiversity. This climate change brings a lot of natural fury like storms, floods, typhoons, drought, etc. You might have noticed that in recent times each typhoon is bigger than the former. It brings huge destruction of natural surroundings. Due to modern techniques loss of lives of humans is considerably avoided but how will you recoup the loss of a tree uprooted in a storm. It takes 10-20 years to grow a tree but takes a few minutes to destroy it.

After all this dismal statistics there is a silver lining in the dark tunnel. Our efforts and actions will bring the biodiversity back to its bloom. The current generation is extremely active in sustainability. We are aware that it is imperative for our existence to co-exist with biodiversity. The scale needs to be balanced and our efforts are bearing fruits. Green is the color in vogue. We are responsible disposers of garbage, we always look for the right bin to dispose. We segregate & dispose. Augment the use of more organic and local products. A simple action of sustainability goes a long way. I am sure that our future is secured & safe. But, we must ensure to carry out the sustainable efforts and sustain the Biodiversity.

A few meaningful picture are attached.

Thanks for Reading.

Thanks Nishan. Your observations are apt. If we control our activities, Biodiversity will be untouched.

Thanks Louis. The credits are now mentioned in the report. Actually the same was available at the picture as well.
Biodiversity is our creation thus we must solve this & restore The Mother Earth to its prime again.

    Rohan,
Your report is so nice and brief about biodiversity. Biodiversity owe the jewels of the world but why human are still misunderstanding it. They are involved in illicit activities and picking several endangered flora and fauna from the wild as their target.
Thanks for your share and keep writing!
    Best wishes!

    Hello Rohan

Thank you for sharing your informative and thorough report on biodiversity! You have touched upon so many important issues in your article. One thing is that climate change (global warming) can be both the cause and the result of biodiversity loss. Also, I really like how you emphasized all humans need to have a sense of responsibility to preserve the biodiversity for future generation. Thank you for all your effort and time taken in this report.

    Hi Rohan,

Thank you for your report on Biodiversity. Biodiversity has become one of the major problem of the world these days and this is not just about a country, this is about our whole world. Biodiversity is majorly caused by the global warming and in fact global warming has been accelerated by our ruthless development, cutting down the trees and destroying the natural resources. We should be responsible for our actions and consider sustainable development not only for us, but also for the environment. This is definitely a good report, yet I do want to warn you that please properly cite your sources when you are using a report, pictures or videos from external sources. I do not see where you've taken the photos from.
