The pyramid [Bio-Diversity] [feature]

Bio-diversity is a term for biological diversity. It is an all-inclusive word that contains all ecosystems, species and genetics. Our planet Earth delights us with endless creations and each and every one of those creations play their own roles so that we can all coexist. The structure of the ecosystem is like that of a pyramid. Taking one element out of this setup affects all of the rest.

At the top of the pyramid predators are found followed by carnivores and then herbivores then at the bottom are producers.  Producers are the reason for the very existence of the pyramid. Producers are plants like Trees. Trees take up to 30% of the earth¡¯s land. They contribute to the bio-diversity of the earth in a major way as they accommodate inhabitants under them and all around them. They are at the bottom of the pyramid that resembles the ecosystem. For a structure to be at the bottom means that that structure is what makes or breaks the whole structure. Trees as produces decide the future of bio-diversity that will exist on planet earth. As a part of the bottom group, trees are responsible for making and sustaining all the energy required to run the whole pyramid of ecosystem.

The thing about trees is that if we did not depend on them, we would want them but unluckily for us, we cannot survive without trees. But the reality is that 1 and ¨ö acres of them are cut down per second. This is delirious. This act is an act one would take as an emergency action as though trees were poisonous to our survival. Humans are taking the exact opposite of the action they should be taking in protecting the base of the pyramid that we all depend on. If we keep going at this rate, all that will be left of the pyramid is no pyramid at all.

    Hello Merry

Thank you for sharing your insightful report on biodiversity with us. The structure of the ecosystem is often represented as a pyramid. This shows how all the animals and plants are connected to each other and how taking one element out of this pyramid will ruin the whole pyramid. Thank you for pointing out this very important feature of ecosystem as this provides a strong evidence on why we should protect every species. Keep up the good work!

Imbalance in any one of the factor in pyramid may ruin the whole pyramid and consequently the whole ecosystem.

    Hi Merry,

Thank you for this wonderful report. I really like how you mentioned food chain or pyramid in terms of biodiversity. All the living organisms on this earth, in fact, have its own position in the food chain this extinction of one specific species from this food chain will bring disastrous effect. In order to maintain biodiversity, all of us should pay attention to the environment! :) Keep up with the good work.

    Hey there Merry,

You're right, taking one element from a system such as a pyramid would disturb the entire system. And produces or autotrophs are a primary, yet fundamental group of species that help sustain and regulate the foodweb.

The cutting down of trees in this day and age is truely ludicrous is its purest sense. Yes, we need make sure that our economies thrive, but at what extent? And what price?

Thank you so much for reporting! I appreciate that hard work you put into your reporting!
    Warm regards,
    Rosa

    Hello merry
These tropical pyramids must be balanced for every organisms survival, even in disturbance in one factor is threatening to another part of pyramid.
    Thank you for this report,
    Green cheers
