Suststainable development has become the has become a great concern that it is been discussed every where. According to World Commission on Environment and Development, Sustainable development can be referred to as the " development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Economists, from their professional point of view, sustainable development is being referred to as economic process in which the quantity and quality of stocks of natural resources (like forests) and the integrity of bio-chemical cycle like climate are sustained and pushed on to the future generations unimpaired. Wild Life Sanctuaries (WLS) National Parks (NP) and Biosphere Reserves. To achieve sustainable development, an international movement, strongly supported by political will and public pressure so as to convince industry, governments and institutions to take responsibility for their action is highly required. Despite our passion for technological and social development, it must be noted that it should not endanger or threaten the natural system that supports life on earth. Sustainable development can be successfully achieved by implementing the following recommendations. (l) conservation of natural resources: The indiscriminate felling of economic trees and insignificant approach for replacements, the ever-invreasing pollution of water bodies etc. should be controlled and well monitored the government and the concerned organisations. This will by far go a long way in sustainable development in our society. (II) recycling and reuse of materials: This addresses plastic materials especially.Plastic bottles and containers can be recycled for other use while other materials can be reused for funnel, pencil packs, etc. III) use of renewable resources like solar and wind energy, rather than non renewable resources such as oil and coal. This will reduce the rate of pollution in our environment
