REQUIEM 2019 (Rutger Hauer and blue whale)

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa Zaretskaya. I would like to draw your attention to my report related to the topic - REQUIEM 2019 (Rutger Hauer and blue whale).

A few days ago, the great Dutch leading actor Rutger Hauer died in the Netherlands after a short illness. He was 75. He went on star in the 1982 ¡°Blade Runner¡± as Roy Batty. More recently, he appeared in a pair of 2005 films: as Cardinal Roark in ¡°Sin City,¡± and as the corporate villain who Bruce Wayne discovers is running the Wayne Corp. in Christopher Nolan¡¯s ¡°Batman Begins.¡± Rutger Hauer was handsome, energetic and fluent in several languages. His most admired TV work came in projects that turned on World War II themes: He received Golden Globe nominations for his performances as the leader of a concentration camp revolt in ¡°Escape From Sobibor¡± (1987) and an SS officer in the alternate-universe drama ¡°Fatherland¡± (1994). I liked this actor.

He was active in social causes as an outspoken sponsor of the environmental organization Greenpeace and the founder of the Starfish Association, a non-profit devoted to AIDS awareness.

I'd like to draw your attention to a little clip that tells about blue whales. It's called Requiem 2019. The film was directed by Rutger Hauer and Sil van der Woerd, who felt an urge to bring attention to the ongoing whaling. If we love whales and oceans, we have to watch and share this film! This clip is amazing. In this little movie, the last remaining blue whale shares its story of extinction with its only enemy – mankind.

Thank you for your attention.

    Hello Lisa

Thank you for introducing this meaningful movie, Rutger Hauer and blue whale. Making movies or documentaries is one of the most effective ways to draw attention to environmental concerns. It seems that this movie is about the decreasing number of blue whales and human. Thank you for the recommendation!

Sadly whaling brings numerous benefits to poachers and the act is conducted legally in many Asian countries. Thank you for the report and the video
