We have heard and read several times, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This has become a crusade in all the countries to divert waste from landfills. I have always made it a point to take care of environmental aspects in my daily routine. I think this is the best way forward. Take each day as Earth Day & do not throw recyclable stuff into waste. It takes a minimum effort but strong will power to divert waste from landfills. I always think before using the waste bin. In my country numerous segregation bins are provided at many places. The recycling agency collects the recyclables from our door step, [if the contribution is sizable]. There are many campaigns, drives and initiatives that encourages youth to recycle. Since past many years I have been very active in environmental activities. I have organized various successful drives, initiatives, lectures at different times and I am a firm believer of the fact that no contribution is small & each contribution makes a chain of green actions that inspires others to take similar actions. Recycling is an activity, I firmly feel that all of us can do day in day out. Our daily routines may be set up accordingly. Stock the newspapers, discard the use of Single use plastic, use both the sides of A4 sheets, avoid printing, read on-line, e-books, reduce shower time, save water. These are very small tips, if followed, they will make a huge impact & our Mother Earth will be greener and happier. Thanks for reading. |
