[Program Review] Tunza: Short Review

by Saba Iakobidze | 17-08-2019 04:58 recommendations 0

Submitted by Saba Iakobidze, Regional Ambassador in Georgia of the 22nd Eco-generation Program

Tbilisi, Georgia

To begin, I must say that TUNZA Eco–Generation did more than I was expecting, at the beginning of the year I really didn¡¯t imagine that Tunza could be so useful for me, I thought that TUNZA would help me to research and learn by myself, but during the last six months of this program I found myself in a very friendly environment and not only did I learn by myself, but others taught me a lot; reviewing reports of other ambassadors and getting aware of environmental issues of other countries really gave me a lot. I believe, stories/reports written by me was also useful for my fellow ambassadors.

I think that TUNZA is very well thought out program and definitely, it covers all of its goals, I am proud to be part of TUNZA¡¯s program, I can say that this program has helped me to become the first regional ambassador to my country - Georgia, even though Georgia is a very small country (with a population of around 4,000,000), it has big potential to make positive change and improve our environment/lives to better and more sustainable future, and that¡¯s why I am proud to be part of the TUNZA Eco-Generation community and be environmental ambassador of my country, which is well progressing on this (sustainable future) direction. The other reason why I think that TUNZA is the great program is because of the fact that it is like a library, holding international practices in environmental and sustainability issues.

As I have mentioned above, TUNZA gave me a lot of things: it gave me research abilities, report writing skills, it also widened my environmental/sustainability knowledge; I assume, not only to me but to other ambassadors as well. Everyone was caring for each other, that¡¯s what TUNZA stands for in ¡°Kiswahili¡±, to treat with care. I have told many people about TUNZA and most of them were interested because I told them what awaits them in this wonderful program and how people treat each other.

Overall all I can say that I am thankful for TUNZA for giving this wonderful opportunity to us, to youth. If TUNZA had feedback system I frankly say that I would give TUNZA 5 out of 5 stars. Thanks a lot to TUNZA Eco–Generation/Samsung Engineering and to all ambassadors!

    Hello Saba

I'm glad to hear that you are proud to be a part of Tunza Eco generation and gained more than you expected. I have gained so much things while I have been serving as a mentor too. One of the biggest things was that I had a chance to so many youths who are passionate to make a change and protect the world. It was a great pleasure to be part of this group and I wish you the best luck! : )
