Today in UAE is the world post day, one of the most awaited day for the stamp collectors and for the post offices. On this day, stamp collectors meet each other and trade stamps. Some even donate some of their stamps.

October 9th was first declared World Post Day at the 1969 UPU Congress in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, World Post Day is celebrated all over the world to highlight the importance of the postal services.

Being a stamp collector myself,  I have over 500 stamps on various themes. Some of the historic stamps add value to my hobby. It is believed that philately is the the king of all hobbies and hobby of all kings. 

This hobby of mine is hereditary. It all started with my father collecting stamps and stick them a diary used back in 1937. And today fortunately I am the proud owner of it. He feel elated when he notices me carrying on from where he left.

So once again wishing u all a very happy world post day and encourage everyone to practice this type of hobby. It is environmental friendly also as you are conserving paper. As your collection grows it motivates to collect more & it encourages others to collect stamps as well.Nostalgia plus care for environment is a good combination
