Young people can play an active role in protecting and improving the environment. Youth are back bone of the nation. They can change the future of the society with their well being, initiatives, courageous behaviour etc. Today, I want to introduce you to 45 year old Mr. Moirangthem Loiya, a resident of Uripok Khaidem Leikai in Imphal West, India who has been fighting against deforestation for the last 18 years. He is responsible for replanting a forest named Punshilok, which translates to "Spring of Life". He was employed as a medical representative, he packed some basics such as clothes and food and lived in Punshilok in a small hut that he built himself. In the six years that he stayed there, he worked hard to plant oak, bamboo, ficus, magnolia, jack-fruit and teak among others. Started the initiative with only three varieties of seeds, he cleared the weeds and began planting them with the help of friends and volunteers. As per Article 51-A(g) of the Indian Constitution, every citizen must protect the environment including forests, rivers, lakes and show compassion for living creatures. Loiya and his friends have been acting as responsible citizens to do this and hence gain a lot of appreciation from the local officials. Loiya is an inspiration to each and every youngster, old, rich and poor as he has demonstrated his dedication towards the initiative. Loiya considers himself to be a painter, while other artists use canvas, brush and colour to paint, he uses the face of hills as his canvas and plated trees and flowers to paint. If each and every youth take an inspiration from people like Mr.Loiya and perform our responsibilities towards our planet we can protect our living planet from further deterioration and handover clean and green planet to our future generations Please read further about him at India times Report

Very interesting report about a very inspiring man(youth)!!
Loiya's effort and dedication to the environment is worth awarded.
Not every youth can spend his/her life saving the earth like Loiya, but he/she can start from minor habits and actions which will bring huge impact to the environment.
Your report will be a very good motivation to youths around the world!
