Heroes of our time: 'Tsartsaa Nogoon'

In my last report, I presented you the state of waste management in Mongolia and how youths are uniting towards one goal. If you want to read it, then click this link. (https://tunza.eco-generation.org/ambassadorReportView.jsp?viewID=47745&searchType=&searchName=&pageNumber=2

Now, I would like to share the success story of an inspiring group of people with golden hearts. They are the admins of a Facebook group called ¡®Let¡¯s decrease our waste¡¯. This public group was created on July 2nd, 2018 with the purpose of bringing together mothers to clean their nearby streets and close environments.

However, as time passed, more and more people from mothers, kids to students started joining the Facebook group at an accelerating rate. As of now, there are 18,200 people in this group-- all concerned about the future. B.Saruul, Enkh-Undrakh, B.Munkhzul, and N.Munkhzul-- admins of the famous Facebook group-- saw that there is a huge demand for waste sorting site and network company for the general public.

Those passionate individuals successfully built ¡®Tsartsaa Nogoon¡¯-- an environmental service company in February of 2019. Even though it is a newly created company that had no financial support at the beginning, 'Tsartsaa Nogoon' took over Mongolia while changing the mindsets of the youth. Recently, they also introduced ¡®Go-Box¡¯, a recycling collection containers for public places.

Thanks to their hard work, 10 local recycling companies already made a partnership deal with ¡®Tsartsaa Nogoon¡¯. In fact, since this year¡¯s February, they have successfully delivered 3 tons of plastics to these companies. While ¡®Tsartsaa Nogoon¡¯ is prospering day by day, ¡®Let¡¯s decrease our waste¡¯ group is also expanding their work to make earth stay green as much as possible. Last year, 3 schools and 140 families came together to help scavengers (people who collect recyclable waste to change it with cash) by getting them out of the poverty cycle. Scavengers tend to suffer from illnesses and die young due to hazardous chemicals of waste.

'Let's decrease our waste' inspired many youths to come together, take a stance, and stay true to their actions. This Facebook group might have saved thousands of lives in Mongolia in less than a year. They are the heroes of our time that deserves recognition and gratitude. Please like and share posts from ¡®Tsartsaa Nogoon¡¯ (https://www.facebook.com/tsartsaanogoon/) to support them. Thank you.

P.S I included pictures of Saruul (one of the admins), waste sorting site in Ulaanbaatar, 'Go-Box', and official logo of 'Tsartsaa Nogoon'.

    Hello Tsengelmaa!
I remember feeling depressed knowing about the tons of waste with no management in Mongolia.
Fortunately, it seems some small actions of normal people is starting to change the whole country.
This case well shows the positive effect of collective campaign.
Once some heros start a campaign with courage, the speed it spreads is just amazing.
And your report about this people will make this campaign spread out even more.
Keep up with the good work!
