Youths and the environment

Youths and the environment. Bringing these two words together, will not be seen by many to match up in any way. The environment has long been considered as a thing for the old, a thing that only them, have the right to care about. This is because it is believed they have had their own time to waste, and cause damage to the planet. Therefore, looking at the consequences of their actions, the burden of ramification lies on them. Youthfulness on the other hand, is the peak of every persons live. This is when the young people desire to have all the fun they want, which their predecessors had before them. This leads them to engage in different activities which in the long run; one way or the other, contribute in damaging the planet. Any young person that claims concern for the environment, is continually asked the question; " you are so young, why do you care so much about the environment? At your age, I didn't care that much " . This is the ideology that has reigned in the minds of many persons, strongly affirming to the accetion that youths have no need to put much concern on the protecting the environment. Gradually but surely, the tide of events is proving this ideology to be wrong. To futher bring out reasons for these changes, the question will be asked; between the old and the young, who should actually care more; is it the old who are at the closing points of their lives or the young who are at the verge of losing all the marvelous beauties that nature has to offer due to the continues breaking down of the environmental ecosystem? This question can clearly be answered in its self. The youths have the charge to work more, they have the charge to think more, to create solutions for issues pertaining to their environment. What will their world look like, without the beautiful evergreen colors of her flowers and leave, without the chanting of her wild beasts, singing of her birds, or marvelous flows of her streams? What will be their planet, beaten and scorched by the burning sun Munster, when they have no place to hide? Or What will be their life without the generous donations of oxygen by the beautiful, gigantic tress, in a process that sucks out all their energy? Really, I think the youths have a great need to worry. If they don't, who else should? The youths need to stand up and fight for their future; not just theirs alone, but that of the coming generations, every single one of them. Not all may appear on the front line of international news coverage, like the young Greta Thunberg, or give off high amounts of dollars like Leonardo DiCaprio, but indeed, it is certain that all can do something. No matter how small they might look; after all, it takes only small but multiple efforts to make a difference, inspire and change the world. Youths, stand up! for your future lies in your very hands. Stand up for that which is right, stand up for the environment. Remember, we have No Planet B.

Mentor thanks for you response. The photo is about some young people who are putting up a fight against plastic pollution in their community. They are trying new ways of recycling plastic bottles into really cool stuffs.

I once also thought that there is gap between youths and the environment. But it is true that the youths are the ones who will suffer from the polluted environment, if not preserved. Fortunately, more and more courageous youths start to assert for their rights about clean environment. Even though not everyone can be as famous and rich as you mentioned, every youth can be a hero of his/her local community and preserve the earth.
By the way, I wonder what the photo is about.
