Hi everyone! My name is Lisa Zaretskaya. I would like to draw your attention to my report related to the topic 'Youth and the Environment'. On August 12th, the world celebrated the 'international youth day'. As we know this day was designated in 1999 by the UN general assembly to raise awareness of the global citizens on the challenges and problems the world's youths were facing. So, what are our problems and what can we do? We are only schoolchildren, so we often organize different events at school and discuss our problems, try to find solutions. We talk about global warming and green energy, plastic. Plastic is the most essential material that we use in life. Which is one of the things our oceans are now filled. It affects the ocean’s food chain, and also the fish products that we buy. This is the crisis that we are now in. In one of my previous reports, I wrote that we discussed in class some international issues that Taiwanese people should be more concerned about (such as human rights, climate change, energy, food security, terrorism). We also talked about the opportunities and challenges of globalization for the world and Taiwan, and how can Taiwanese youth stay competitive amid this wave of globalization. We discussed was what role can new media play in our efforts to promote environmental protection. I hope that next school year we will continue our work to save the planet. I think that now the world's youths’ mission is to work towards a world where human coexists harmoniously with nature. Keeping up with the global trends in environmental movements and standards is challenging. It requires a solid strategy of environmental care and social responsibility. Thank you for your attention.

Hello Elizaveta!
You described well about the relationship between youths and the environment. Human society is now on environmental crisis, and what??s important is that education about environmental issues should be taught from young age. For example, a student who were told about the harmful effect of plastic to the ocean and another that didn??t will treat plastic products differently.
In the process of educating people, not only school but also media can play a major role. I hope environmentally well educated youths lead the trend of conserving the environment.

I think it's always really some experience to call somebody who has the same name as you do haha
I believe that name isn't the only thing we share, we also share some real nice passion towards the environment, don't we!!!
'What can youths do?' is a question I believe that many of us had to confront and face by society, by the people around us and also by ourselves. Yet, as you have all experienced as the ambassadors, we young people have the power to influence others and by doing that, we could not only contribute but also lead changes in our world. Yes, I do believe that as you have written, this job requires responsibility and strategy. I think that's what we always got to keep in our mind!
I believe that your article will motivate all of us once more for our green works:)

I do hope you are fine there and doing great with your works. There should be collaborative effort by human to nature to exist sustainably. Nature and Human are interrelated to each other.
