Water is life, according to researchers and the ability to attain safe and pure drinking water is an asset to society. There are millions of people in the world who are in search of a safe and secure source of water. Sierra Leone is one of such countries that are in dire need of such a huge global challenge. I was a visitor in Dwazarck, one of the communities found in Western rural constituency which has a huge influx of people where I saw firsthand, how many youths file to get some pipe borne water for their daily existence. Some of the weak ones who were unable to fight their way to the pipe struggled fruitlessly and I pitied them. The questions are: How can this generation conquer such a menace that is a breeding ground for the many diseases that continue to affect us? Can we find another substitute to the present unsafe waters found in the global deprived communities? Can there be natural means in which we could solve this problem that is affecting us?

Indeed, this is an issue of concern to all and sundry. In another community in the southern province of Sierra Leone, Sembehun Kokofele, the people use the water from the well to do virtually everything. During the dry season, when everywhere is dry the children converge around the riverside or stream where others pass waste and laundry and it is this water that the families in these communities live on. This is indeed a breeding ground for some of the contagious water borne diseases.

Pure and safe drinking water has been in scarcity in the country. Many of the people constantly complain of diarrhoea and dysentery which is gradually claiming the lives of many in the country. Perhaps, if we can tackle this menace, our generation can be better off than our previous one. If we want to acquire the desire that we admire, we must not retire if in the process we perspire, we must refire to acquire the desire that we admire. This cannot be underestimated neither overemphasize.
