Annually, to welcome a new academic year, parents plan to buy some decorations for the class of their children. There are several choices: large pictures, plants, LCD TVs or some equipment? Do we have a greener choice? How can we utilize that habit to encourage young pupils' love to green trees and environment?

Tien Le and friends have another option for parents. In 45 days and 6 members, they were successful to design a new model of green wall, size 1.4m x 0.7m, including 144 plants with the height from 10 to 15 cm. This 'Green wall' is very compact and convenient. It can be moved easily with the wheels and put inside a typical-size classroom.

The height of 'Green wall' is 1.2 m, so pupils can take care of the plants themselves. Compare to the current models of Green wall which are popular in Vietnam, this new model will enable us to have 1.92 times more plants in the same space. Each year, the plants on Green wall will required to be changed. In 5 years, the cost to establish and maintain will be about USD 150, save up to 38% comparing the cost of normal Green wall which is USD 238.

It is not only a greener choice but also a smarter choice that parents can save more money. 

Besides providing the 'Green Wall', project team launched the campaign 'Bringing the Green Wall to our class' for pupils. In this campaign, young pupils were educated about the necessity and the enjoyment in growing plants. The contents of education based on the comics developed by the projects – 'The request of Green Super Hero'.

Biology with the lesson about trees now will be more attractive and realistic to children when they can observe, do experiment and take care of plants during days in school year.

The love to green, the love to trees and environment should be developed from something very simple, very close and very soon in their academic life like that.
